The Kanji Builder tool is a multiple choice quiz in which the user memorizes various kanji by learning to break them down into their individual parts, or modules.
By using this method kanji that appear incredibly complex can be broken into easily managable pieces in the user's mind.
A typical quiz will look like this when you open it:
Choose the modules that make up:

Clicking the "Begin" button will start the quiz. This will reveal the kana reading for the kanji you are learning along with it english definition, and start the timer. Now take a look at the equation towards the bottom of the page. This equation contains the english definitions of the various modules that "add up" to equal the kanji you are learning. Working from left to right through the equation, your job is to find the correct modules in the four multiple choice tiles.
Choose the modules that make up: はなす, 'to speak'

Selecting the correct module will place that module into the equation, and replace the multiple choice tiles with four new possible choices, one of which is the correct answer for the next spot in the equation. This continues until all spots in the equation have been filled in and you have selected all of the parts of the kanji you are learning.

Once all of the spots in the equation have been filled, the quiz ends and the completed kanji is revealed.
